“I didn’t get some of the memories I thought I’d wanted. But right here, just like this, you’re giving me memories I didn’t know I needed. A girl can go a long time on a night like this.”

The bookstagram community is a fabulous place, I have found SO many great books to read, connected with some amazing authors, publishers and of course, fellow book lovers. For June, one of my goals was to connect with more readers, and I found a @thechicklitbookclub, ran by Marian, and I was instantly in love. From terrific reading choices, to a more fast paced reading schedule, everything about it had me sold. The first title I had the pleasure of joining the group for was The Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morgenthaler.
I was immediately sold on this title.
As you all know I’m all about travel, so any excuse to pick up a title with a far off destination grabs my attention, and I feel like Alaska has been a hot book location lately!
Grant is a Moose Springs native, who owns the diner, The Tourist Trap and doesn’t exactly like that the diner he opened for the locals has become so popular with the tourists. Zoey is not like the rest of those heading to this particular bucket list Alaskan town, saving up her pennies from waitressing just to sleep on the couch of her best friend for this once in a lifetime trip of her dreams.
With witty banter between the characters, a mix of fun pop-culture references and a good love story, Morgenthaler proved to be an author I adore. From falling for scene stealer Ulysses, to wanting to experience all of the adventures these characters go on, The Tourist Attraction stole my heart and kept me giggling.
A quick read with just the right amount of romance, drama and detail, I’m already looking forward to reading the sencond in the series, Mistletoe & Mr. Right. Check out my review along with others from the book club over on goodreads, and make sure you pick up The Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morgenthaler for your next bookstack!
After reading the title, Marian was able to arrange a chat with the author and it was fantastic fun! What I have loved most during the stay at home the coronavirus has forced upon us is feeling like I haven’t lost the chance to really connect and feel inspired by others, thanks to these virtual meetings! Sarah shared some behind the scenes tid bits, laughs and with us – check out this fun group of Tourist Trap enthusiasts wanting to read more, and drink a Growly Bear!
Next up the group is reading Hello, Summer which I already reviewed HERE, and later this month we’ll be reading The Boyfriend Project which I’m really excited about! Are you someone who loves to join in with other readers to discuss the books you’re reading? Or a member of any virtual book clubs?
