August 2020 BOOK PICKS

I cannot believe it’s already August, and here in a few weeks we’ll be sending our kids to school in this new crazy world. Fall is right behind it, which I’m starting to really look forward to – pumpkins, cozy sweaters, watching Hocus Pocus, fall boots & curling up with my books sounds heavenly! 🍁

Since it’s the start of the month, I figured I’d share some of my potential to be read titles that are all in my to be read pile, and I participated in #tentoberead challenge on bookstagram!

▫️ More Than Just a Pretty Face by Syed M Massood | I was so excited to receive this ARC via Netgalley after author of my favorite YA title yet this year, Erin Hahn, HIGHLY recommended it! Since her book [More Than Maybe] was SO amazing, I’m sure the one she’s rating so high is sure to be excellent! I’ve been all about the young adult titles and nostalgia lately.

▫️ The Lost and Found Bookshop by Susan Wiggs | Susan’s book was a recent Fiction & Friends featured title & I just HAD to have this book, LOOK at that cover! I know you’ve all seen me mention it before, but if you aren’t already in this Facebook group, you need to be.

▫️ The Golden Cage by Camilla Lackberg, a @aaknopf title | mBasically, whatever Abby of @crimebythebook tells me to read, I immediately buy, she has never steered me wrong! Her & my friend Magen of @bonechillingbooks give the BEST thriller recommendations to me 🔪 Love changing up my genres each read to keep it interesting!

▫️ Always Only You by Chloe Liese is definitely going to be read this month – after reading Only When It’s Us, I’ve been impatiently waiting this release! 📖

▫️ Kind of a Big Deal by Shannon Hale | After hearing all the hype during Bookcon I had this one on my MUST read & then I was downright giddy to be approved for an advance reader copy thanks to Netgalley & xx

▫️ All Adults Here by Emma Straub | I ordered from Emma’s own bookstore, Books Are Magic, in Cobble Hill, NY to support small and be able to get an autographed copy. Somehow I still haven’t read the whole book so I’m beyond excited to be buddy reading it this month with @joannasbookshelf and getting one of my backlisted books READ!

▫️ One of the titles I’m MOST excited about for the month of August is Loathe at First Sight by Suzanne Park. I am really looking forward to reading it later this month with my favorite virtual book club @thechicklitbookclub & while I wait, I’ll be reading her YA title, The Perfect Escape that I just received from Sourcebooks Fire – it’s like a two for one special on my to be read pile.

▫️ First up for audiobooks in August is my libro.fm advanced listening copy of The Fixed Stars by Molly Wizenberg & the synopsis sounds SO good! Want to recieve FREE titles as part of their influencer listening program? Click here!

▫️ This Disney loving momma misses her second HOME 🏰 As a Disney travel agent, I know parks are open & I’m dying to visit with these lesser crowds & get to vacation still BUT we’ll have to wait until at least later in the fall because my boyfriend builds pools and can’t take time off in the summer. In the meantime, I’m reading ALL the fun titles about my favorite villians, like Unbirthday from Liz Braswell & Disney Books!

▫️ Of course, I can’t forget my book tour titles, this month I’ll be reading a few this month thanks to @suzyapprovedbooktours including Until I Find You by Rea Frey – I just love that the titles I get through these are ones I may never have found without her, but always REALLY enjoy!

Now tell me ONE book you’re most excited about reading this month!
